Bearings & Spares is a member of the Iceman Group of Companies, Sri Lanka’s market leader in providing temperature-controlled goods transportation for vehicles.
The early years...
We had a humble begining in 1989 with a staff of only 2 and a stock value of US$200, distributing SKF Bearings in the Kandana, Ja-ela and Katunayaka areas.
Slowly but steadily we began to expand our operations from 1990 onwards. Each successive year we achieved a significant growth which was higher than the overall market growth in Sri Lanka.
Up to the year 2007 we were the area distributor for SKF Bearings. During this period we achieved a remarkable growth in sales volume while accumulating a steady clientele numbering over 100. As a result, our performance was rated very highly by SKF International.
On several occasions we were selected as the best SKF Bearings distributor in Sri Lanka in recognition of our achievements. What’s more, we have even received international recognition for our performance.
A forward leap...
In 2007 we began a new strategic alliance when SNR of France selected us as their National Distributor. SNR Bearings is the number one bearing brand in Europe in terms of quantity. Recently, SNR Bearings merged with NTN Bearings and presumably is now the number one bearing brand in the world.

Continuous customer relationship
We are the only bearings and spares distributor in Sri Lanka to offer 24 hour round-the-clock service and delivery. Delivery is done free, at no additional cost.
We record and monitor customer feedback and complaints with every sale and sales call. This helps us to improve our service.
We also conduct regular technical sessions and training programs for our customers. These are conducted by factory-trained engineers.
Reliable service
Our strength is having an entire range of bearings for any application with the manufacturer’s warranty. In fact, currently we have over 25 bearing banks in operation. As an integral part of our service, we provide condition-based monitoring as a predictive maintenance for machinery. This is an exclusive service which no ther bearing distributor in Sri Lanka is able to offer. What’s more, we are also equipped to carry out noise level measuring.
Continuous improvement
Competent and dedicated employees are our most valued asset. We train our employees continuously on technical and marketing aspects and invest in the personal development of each employee. Four executives have been trained at our principal’s head office in France and our target is to train two employees in France each year.
